The Big Idea-Hatred and Intolerance have dangerous results.
My line of thinking.....
11/4/10-Hitler killed millions of people. That is just terrible. And the reson he killed them is because he didnt like their ways and he thought they were different and wrong. And he is just so cruel. i would hate it if i just had to get up and leave right then and there with no warning like Gerda did.
12/14/10-I have learned a lot since the last line of thinking entry. I learned that HItler had several different ways of killing the Jews. He gassed them, shot them, starved them, sent them to concentration camps, and many more things. He is such an evil person and he had no logical reason to do those things to the Jews.
1/18/11-Since reading the book "Survivors" I have gained so much knowledge and awareness. I used to think that the Holocaust was stupid and a waste of time but now I look down on myself for ever thinking that. The Holocaust was a serious matter and I wish I could have lived in that time because I want to help so badly. Knowing that I saved at least one family from death is so rewarding and I'm sure that the family I would have saved would very much appreciate me, too. Living without a mother or a father or an uncle or aunt or grandmother or grandpa would be so heart-wrenching to me and I have no idea how i could live with the thought that everyone I know, all of my family, all of my friends, either hate me or are dead. I would have no body. I would be a nobody in the eyes of everyone around me. I would NEVER be able to live on my own with no one to depend on at this age. Those children in the story are very brave and independent. It's a good thing, too or else they would be toast.
